Stormwater Best Management Practices (BMP) Manual

The Glasgow Public Works Department initiated efforts to develop a Statewide NPDES Phase II Communities Consortium to promote familiarity, consistency and cost-sharing in the development of Phase II materials. All Kentucky Phase II communities are welcome and have been invited to participate. This manual represents a product developed in coordination with the Consortium.

Phase II communities that participated in the cost and development of the document are listed in the Acknowledgements Section.

The intent of the manual is to provide guidance regarding the selection and use of a number of Stormwater Best Management Practices (BMPs), and may be used in conjunction with local ordinances. Ultimately the goal is clean water and reduction of the pollutants associated with urban activities (construction for example). Common sense and good judgment by all participants and stakeholders (designers, contractors, inspectors, reviewers, officials, regulators, and owners) are required and encouraged.
