Glasgow Recreation Department Walk Aerobics  

The Walk/Aerobics class takes place at the New Gym (Volleyball) gym located at the Liberty Street office.

  • Classes begin the first Monday in October and will run until the middle of December.  Then we have a three week closed period for the holidays.  The gym reopens the second week in January and will stay open until the last Friday in March.  It is also during the second part of the walk class that the gym hours will be 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. in the afternoon.

  • Walk  times are Monday through Friday from 8:30 to 10:30  a.m. 

  • The aerobics class is on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 9:15  to 10:00 a.m. 

  • There is a sign-in sheet for all participants when they come in to take the class.  It must be signed if walking or taking the aerobics class.

  • The aerobics is very low impact.  It includes warm ups, chair exercises, stretching while seated and standing, and cool down.

  • There is a small room in the gym with a table for sitting and chatting.  A coffee machine is on hand and many bring food and snacks for everyone.  It's a good time and place for seniors to walk and then sit and talk with others.

  • Once a month, a trip is planned to a special exercise location such as Mammoth Cave to provided a change of scenery for the participants.
