The Barren-Metcalfe Emergency Communication Center is made up of eight full-time and three part-time dispatchers . Four Dispatchers are employed by the Glasgow Fire Department, four are employed by the Barren-Metcalfe Ambulance Service and three part-time dispatchers work both sides. We are the PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) for both counties. We dispatch all EMS calls for both counties, City of Glasgow Fire, Barren Co. VFD's, Barren Co. Emergency Management. Law calls are transferred to Glasgow Police Department or Edmonton Police Department. Edmonton Police Department also handles Metcalfe Co. VFD's. We are a Phase II PSAP which means we are certified to take wireless calls. Also on board with me is Joann Eaton, Records & Equipment Supervisor. Joann takes care of daily updates from the telephone companies, open records request, and mapping updates.
