CITY CLERK/ADMINISTRATOR FULL-TIME POSITION OPENING

The City of Glasgow – Office of the Mayor - is now accepting applications for the full time position of: City Clerk/Administrator. Position reports to Mayor; Under executive and legislative direction, serves as City Clerk/Administrator for the City of Glasgow, performing City Clerk/Administrator and Personnel Director duties. Preferred but not required, graduate degree from an accredited college or university with major work in business administration, municipal government or related fields supplemented by at least (3) years of progressively responsible experience in government or business. Additional education may be substituted on a year for year basis for (2) years of the required experience; or 10 years progressively responsible experience in work relating to municipal, financial and banking operations, etc.

Glasgow Fire Department is seeking applicants for:

FIREFIGHTER

The Glasgow Fire Department is seeking Candidates for the position of FIREFIGHTER. The candidate will need to have knowledge of the law and rules governing the duties of the position. Candidates shall be a person of sobriety and integrity and is/has been an orderly, law abiding citizen.

Minimum requirements include:

  • Must be a U. S. Citizen
  • Must be 21 years old
  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must have a valid KY driver’s license or obtain before 6 months probation is up
  • Must have completed and passed the CPAT (Candidate Physical Agility Test) or already have a valid CPAT card valid on the date of hire. NOTE: If for some reason you make the final list but are not hired until a later date, you are required to have a valid CPAT card good for the date you are hired (this will be your responsibility)
  • Must pass the written test with a score of 70% or higher

Applicant must have graduated from an accredited high school or its equivalent (GED). Experience in dealing with all ages of people; Officiating/Scorekeeping a variety of sports/programs. Ability to pass a physical examination; Possess a valid driver’s license issued by the Commonwealth of Kentucky; Ability and willingness to work flexible and irregular work schedule; Must consent to and pass a criminal background check; Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening test.
