Law Enforcement Telecommunicator

 

The Glasgow Police Department is now accepting applications for the position of Telecomunicator. All applicants must be a United States citizen, must be at least eighteen years of age, have a high school diploma or G.E.D.; have not been convicted of a felony; be able to pass a drug screen; must take a suitability screening; must take a polygraph screening and submit fingerprints for a criminal check. Applicants must be able to complete a five week basic training academy. Persons interested in applying may pick up an application at Glasgow City Hall, 126 East Public Square, between the hours of 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday. All applications must be returned to the City Clerk's Office and will be accepted until 4:30 p.m., Monday, February 8, 2010.

Minimum Requirements Include:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must be 21 years of age
  • Must have high school diploma or equivalent
  • Must not have had peace officer status revoked in any state
  • Must not be prohibited from carrying a firearm
  • Completed application (include copies of driver's license, birth certificate, military discharge papers (DD-214) and proof of education)
  • Must be able to successfully complete:
      Physical agility assessment
      Background Investigation
    (Criminal history check, credit check, employment history, references, no felony record)
      Psychological assessment
      Polygraph exam
      Drug screening
      18 weeks of Basic Training with DOCJT

Applications must be obtained , in person, from the Glasgow City Clerk's Office at Glasgow City Hall, 126 East Public Square. Applications, with attached documents, should be returned to the City Clerk's Office no later than February 8, 2010 at 4:00 p.m.

Glasgow Recreation Department
Full-Time / Part-Time Laborer Position

 

The City of Glasgow Recreation Department is currently seeking applications for full-time / part-time Laborer position. Applications and job descriptions can be obtained from the Glasgow City offices located on the Public Square, Mon.-Fri., 8:00-4:00 pm. All applications must be returned to the Glasgow City offices by 4:00 pm on Friday, Feb. 19th, 2010. Resumes will be accepted but must be attached to the returned application. Salary ranges will depend on qualifications.
