City of Glasgow strives to maintain "Going Green" lifestyle!
We all need to work together to Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and compost our solid waste. Recycling conserves our natural resources, adds life to OUR LANDFILL and holds down the cost of garbage collection and taxes. The City of Glasgow offers its residents the most convenient way of recycling: Curbside Recycling.
Items accepted for recycling are:
- Clear Glass
- Brown & Green Glass
- Aluminum Cans (Rinsed)
- Steel Cans (Rinsed)
- Newspaper
- Office Paper
- Shredded Paper
- Cardboard
- Grade #1 Clear Plastic (Soda Bottles)
- Grade #1 Green Plastic (Soda Bottles)
- Grade #2 Natural Plastic (Milk Jugs)
- Laundry Detergent Jugs
E-Scrap & Styrofoam is accepted Saturday's only at Southgate Plaza Dropoff.

Appliances may be delivered to the landfill located at 400 Glen Garry Road, Glasgow, for recycling during regular operating hours. Landfill operating hours are 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday and 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. Appliances accepted for recycling include: washers, dryers, stoves, water heaters and dishwashers. The freon must be properly removed or the compressor must be off refrigerators, air conditioners and freezers at the time of disposal.
A truck is sent to area businesses on Monday, Wednesday and Thursday afternoons collecting recyclables. This program works on a call-in basis. Call 678-4302 for more information on this service.
Area residents may participate in our recycling program by dropping-off recyclables at our Southgate Plaza Dropoff site located at 619 S. L. Rogers Wells Boulevard on Saturday's from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
