The Barren-Metcalfe Emergency Communication Center is made up of eight full-time and three part-time dispatchers . Four Dispatchers are employed by the Glasgow Fire Department, four are employed by the Barren-Metcalfe Ambulance Service and three part-time dispatchers work both sides.
Glasgow is the PSAP (Public Safety Answering Point) for both counties. Glasgow dispatches all EMS calls for both counties, the City of Glasgow Fire Department, the Barren County Volunteer Fire Department's, Barren County Emergency Management.
Law related calls are transferred to the Glasgow Police Department or the Edmonton Police Department. the Edmonton Police Department also handles Metcalfe County's Volunteer Fire Departments.
Glasgow is a Phase II PSAP which means we are certified to take wireless calls.
Joann Eaton, Records & Equipment Supervisor, takes care of daily updates from the telephone companies, open records request, and mapping updates.
